MUSIC SAVES LIVES--Gustavo Dudamel
This philosophy from El Sistema has shaped my teaching since 2008, when I first arrived in Los Angeles. Suddenly thrust into an inner-city high school with a 50% graduation rate, I was challenged daily on how to reach every student, no matter what their previous experience had been.

Moving to LA and finding myself in untraditional music settings (like a room with 15 acoustic pianos, two students at each one!), I had to reinvent myself as a music educator. From traditional ensemble instruction to combining choirs with rock bands, the love of making music accessible and achievable for every student has driven me to collect innovative tools and techniques,
My motivation is soul-deep. I believe that helping music educators and students become strong contributors to the artistic life of their schools and communities is the most meaningful work I can do in this world, now more than ever.

Guiding your program using our unique techniques, you will be awed, witnessing how students...
-
Listen and connect across perceived boundaries.
-
Nurture creativity and virtuosity in one another.
-
Work hard together without even realizing it.

Our world is changing fast. Ensemble enrollments are down, guitar and commercial music enrollments are up. Music technology is a must. Classroom behaviors have changed drastically with the invention of the smart phone and social media. To thrive as educators and to serve our students for their futures in music and anything else they might choose, we can no longer stay isolated in our performance-based, teacher-led programs. Our team is here to help.
