MUSIC EDUCATION IS MY LIFE’S WORK.

Music saves lives. I am a lifelong music educator for the sheer love of the connectedness that comes about when we make music together.

Throughout my career, I’ve seen students …

  • Listen and connect across perceived boundaries.

  • Nurture creativity and virtuosity in one another.

  • Work hard together without even realizing it.

The magic of music education is in the small moments. A newfound sense of confidence. An ability to reflect together, or to critique ourselves. The spark of motivation that creates real collaboration.

It’s also in the big ones. Like when students who never even believed they could play an instrument perform with flawless expression and flair. When they feel it. And when they truly know they did it all themselves.

In my quest to be the best teacher I can be, I’ve made myself a student of music education trends and techniques. From traditional ensemble instruction to combining choirs with rock bands, the love of making music accessible and achievable for every student has driven me to collect innovative tools and techniques — and inspired me to share my approach music educators.

Whether I’m teaching my students or leading a music enrichment workshop for yours, there is no autopilot for me. I’m thrilled by the process of finding new ways to achieve craft-worthy results while preserving the utmost enjoyment and engagement for kids.

My motivation is soul-deep. I believe that helping music educators and students become strong contributors to the artistic life of their schools and communities is the most meaningful work I can do in this world we share.

If you are a music educator, I’m here to support you and your students. Let me know how I can support your music program — I’d love to help you bring the love of music to life.
